Westview, Sinton Green, Grimley, Worcester, WR2 6NW
My name is Leanne and I am a fully qualified and BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist working with Think CBT from my consulting rooms in Worcester (WR2)
As well as being a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, I am also a Registered Mental Health Nurse. Currently I am able to offer appointments via Zoom and Microsoft Teams and face to face in my countryside office in the outskirts of Worcestershire, WR2. I have worked within the mental health sector for around fifteen years, in a variety of different capacities.
I am registered under the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and practice within their Code of Practice, I am also a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, with my main experience being working with children and adolescents and eating disorders (adults and children). I have special interest in working with OCD, anxiety, depression and trauma, amongst many more mental health issues.
I have recently undertake EMDR training and am therefore able to offer Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to clients that require this. I also have experience of Dialectical Behavioural therapy (DBT) and The Maudsley Anorexia Nervosa Treatment for Adults (MANTRA). All of this experience allows me to meet the specific needs of my clients, to enable them to achieve their goals.
My experience within the NHS and within independent healthcare and private practice, has allowed me to gain extensive experience within lots of different areas of mental health but has also allowed me to acknowledge the differences between working within the NHS and private practice.
I feel as if my approach is very collaborative and participative with the client I am working with, which allows therapy to be very much client led and effective. I also work within the evidence based practices, which means that there is evidence for the work that I conduct. I feel that this is very important, as my aim is for clients to achieve their goals as quickly as possibly, but also to ensure that once they are achieved, they are maintained.
In my practice, not only do I practice within the NMC Code of Practice, I work to the BABCP’s code of professional practice and ethical standards for clinical work also.
